After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. Cage has popped up in Netflix Marvel shows on occasion, mostly in the first season of Jessica Jones, but his time will come when his first season hits Netflix on September 30, 2016.

In the meantime, Netflix has released the first part in a series of featurettes dubbed "Street Level Hero." Evidently these will aim to pull back the curtain on not only the making of the show, but also its street-level authenticity and cultural relevance. Takea look at the first episode below, which explores the musical landscape of the series.

Luke Cage, which follows two seasons of Daredevil and one of Jessica Jones, looks to bring somewhat of a different flavor in the Defenders line. While it all still feels very much cut from the same cloth, Cage feels even more like an every man than Daredevil, and I think that'll bode well with audiences. Despite his qualities, Cage doesn't seem all that interested in being a super hero, and I like that aspect. We'll see how an entire season fares in one month's time!

Season 1 of Luke Cage hits Netflix on September 30, 2016.
