Matt Damon would play a superhero for Ben Affleck

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

With JASON BOURNE premiering in theaters around the world, Matt Damon is making the publicity rounds and talking about the future of BOURNE, as well as other film possibilities. As soon as Ben Affleck was announced as the new Batman, we all joked about Damon taking on the role of Robin. But is there any chance that Damon would actually throw on a cape of some sort? Well, turns out if th right people are involved, he probably would!

Matt Damon on playing a superhero:

I’d consider anything with the right director, but I can’t imagine there are any superheroes left, I think they’re all taken at this moment. If [Ben Affleck] was directing me, I’d jump on it in a New York minute. I’d love to work with Ben. The problem with Ben is every time he directs a movie, he gives himself the best role in it, so until he’s willing to give up the best role to one of his friends, we’re not going to get on with it.

Obviously Damon is being a little cheeky here, but he's not wrong! Affleck and Damon proved to be a hell of a team when it came to GOOD WILL HUNTING, and while they've been uber-busy ever since, I've always wanted them to team back up for another film. I doubt it would be anything superhero-related, but if you told me that Damon would be taking part in Affleck's solo Batman film . . . well, you'd then have one of the most anticipated comic book films of all time!

You can see Matt Damon next in JASON BOURNE which hits theaters on July 29, 2016.
