Set in Hawkins Indiana in the 1980’s, Stranger Things chronicles the search for a young boy who vanishes into thin air under highly suspicious circumstances. His mother (Winona Ryder) opens an investigation into the boy's disappearance with local authorities that unravels a series of mysteries involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl. Check out the first images in what's being billed as a coming of age story wrapped in a love letter to the ubiquitous cult classics of the 80s.

I'll admit that I've heard next to nothing about Stranger Things, but if Netflix has taught me anything, it's that they're willing to try a few things outside of the norm when it comes to their original content. We'll have a better idea of the kind of vibe they're going for when the trailer hits, but in the meantime, it's nice to know that Winona Ryder hasn't fallen off the face of the Earth!

Stranger Things hits Netflix on July 15th.
