Now this is pretty damn cool. BAM has announced that Sony and director Paul Thomas Anderson have produced a new, scoreless print of PUNCH-DRUNK LOVE, and it will screen this spring with Jon Brion's original score re-orchestrated and performed by a live orchestra. The Wordless Music Orchestra have been tapped to perform for the special screening, with Ryan McAdams and percussionists Yuri Yamashita-Morales and Wilson Torres conducting.
According to BAM's announcement, the live-orchestrated screening will have a runtime of 2 hours and 20 minutes, which is about 45 longer than the original version of the film, so it may include deleted scenes or an intermission, or they simply made a mistake in the listing.
The event will be held on March 19, 2016 in New York City, and tickets (which you can purchase here) will run you $45 a pop. Would this be something you'd be interested in checking out?
