Ryan Reynolds fires bullets and one-liners as Deadpool in the first trailer

UPDATE: Check out director Tim Miller's trailer breakdown here!

Comic fans know and love the character of DEADPOOL and for those uninitiated, you're about to get a crash course! A former Special Forces operative turned mercenary is subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers as he adopts the alter ego of Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life. If you remember his stint from X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE, we have a couple of trailers here to erase that from your memory banks. Now, I'm not trying to tell you how to live your life, but the red-band iteration (up first) is the only way to go. See why DEADPOOL aims to be one of the most unique comic book films ever created!

There are some actors who were born to play a role, and it feels like Ryan Reynolds' career has led him to this film. He has the charisma, the physicality, and handles the one-liners like no other. The supporting cast consisting of Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano, and Brianna Hildebrand round out the line-up nicely, giving us an ensemble that feels different that your usual big-budget affair. While this marks Tim Miller's directorial debut, the man's work in visual effects (SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD) shows. The action is there, the humor is there…now let's see if the story delivers in 6 months' time!

DEADPOOL opens in theaters on February 12, 2016.
