Good people do bad things in the first trailer for Netflix series Bloodline

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

First, HBO was the premier network for high caliber television series. Then, AMC and FX showed up and upped the ante by bringing that quality to basic cable. Now, upstarts like Netflix and Amazon have changed the game. With HOUSE OF CARDS and ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK amongst the most highly acclaimed series on the air, Netflix looks to try and make that happen again with their new series BLOODLINE.

On March 20th, Netflix audiences around the world will meet the Rayburns, a contemporary American family who are hard-working pillars of their Florida community. But when the black sheep and eldest son, Danny (Ben Mendelsohn) comes home for the 45th anniversary of his parents’ hotel, he threatens to expose the Rayburns dark secrets and shameful past, pushing his siblings to the limits of family loyalty.

The series looks very dark and presents a different type of drama from what we have seen so far on Netflix. From the trailer, BLOODLINE looks like it could be an AMC or HBO series which bodes well for fans tuning in. The cast is pretty stellar as well even if I am not quite sure exactly what the plot of the series is. I am all for mysterious dramas but I need a little more to fully grip me and make me tune into this show.

BLOODLINE comes from DAMAGES creator Todd Kessler and stars Kyle Chandler, Ben Mendelsoh, Linda Cardellini, Sam Shepard, Sissy Spacek, Norbert Leo Butz, Jamie McShane, Jacinda Barrett, Enrique Murciano, Chloe Sevigny, Steve Pasquale, Mia Kirshner, and Katie Finneran. BLOODLINE debuts all thirteen episodes of it’s first season on March 20th.
