To date, AMC’s BREAKING BAD spin-off BETTER CALL SAUL has been less than direct in telling us what the show is going to be about. Sure, we can take creator Vince Gilligan at his word and wait patiently until the show premieres next year, but if you are like me, you want to see something from BETTER CALL SAUL to prove it will be worth the time to watch. So, how about a nice throw back clip featuring a fan favorite character from BREAKING BAD?

AMC has released a new clip from the series premiere of BETTER CALL SAUL featuring Saul Goodman having a run in with the guy working the gate at a local parking garage. That man is none other than Mike Ehrmantraut. Jonathan Banks returns as the disgruntled private investigator who would go on to do business with Walter White and Jesse Pinkman. But, here, he is just an old guy with no patience for the antics of Saul Goodman.

If this clip is any indicator, BETTER CALL SAUL is going to feel like some of the lighter moments from BREAKING BAD without sacrificing the fictional universe of the original series. This looks like the perfect tone for a series like this and I hope we see a hell of a lot more of Mike and Saul working together.

BETTER CALL SAUL premieres on February 8th and 9th on AMC.
