Fantastic Four Adds Tim Blake Nelson as Mole Man

JoBloJoBlo

Although the major roles have already been taken for the reboot of THE FANTASTIC FOUR, there is still plenty of room for others to join the Marvel Universe.  Enter Tim Blake Nelson, the O Brother, Where Art Thou star is in final talks to play Harvey Elder in the film. In comics lore, Elder is actually the Mole Man, shunned by humanity and leader of a subterranean group of monsters known as the Moloids.

Sources are saying Nelson will not appear as Mole Man in the first installment, so he is likely going to be a set up character for the already announced sequel.  He would then join the cast of Miles Teller (Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic), Kate Mara (Sue Storm/Invisible Woman), Michael B. Jordan (Johnny Storm/The Human Torch), Jamie Bell (Ben Grimm/The Thing) and Toby Kebbell (Dr. Victor Von Doom).

It's rather fitting that Nelson get to play another character destined for a sequel because in ‘The Incredible Hulk’ he played Samuel Sterns, and was poised to become The Leader.  Well, we all know how that movie turned out.  Give ‘em hell Nelson!

THE FANTASTIC FOUR is scheduled to open on June 19th, 2015.
