The Rupert Wyatt directed AMC series Turn gets a Revolutionary new trailer

With the occasional cancellations, AMC still reigns as one of the best sources of original programming on television. With BREAKING BAD ended and MAD MEN following soon, the network is looking for the next potential hit to compliment THE WALKING DEAD. TURN may be that show.

Starring Jamie Bell (KING KONG, THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN) in the lead, TURN follows the creation of America’s first spy ring during the Revolutionary War era. Based on the true story of Abe Woodhall and the Culper Spy Ring, TURN also stars Meegan Warner, Daniel Henshall, Burn Gorman, Seth Numrich, Heather Lind, Kevin McNally, Angus Macfadyen, and JJ Feild. The pilot comes courtesy of DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES director Rupert Wyatt who lends a big screen feel to this period drama.

As a fan of AMC’s HELL ON WHEELS, I know the attention to historical detail will be key in TURN, but it will be the writing that really makes or breaks this show. The brief teaser was shown during the finale of BREAKING BAD and the most recent episode of THE WALKING DEAD, but this new two minute trailer really drives home that this is not some History Channel recreation but a full-fledged series.

TURN premieres on April 6th on AMC.
