X-Men: Days of Future Past gets an earlier release date and adds yet another castmember

Okay, now this is getting a little ridiculous.

Last week when Fox flipped the release dates for DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES and X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, I assumed that they had faith in where X-MEN was headed while APES needed a little more time to be completed. But, instead, Bryan Singer is adding even more characters to his already crowded blockbuster.

The Wrap reports that Australian actor Josh Helman is being added to the movie in an undisclosed role that will shoot for several weeks, making it more than a bit part. Helman recently filmed MAD MAX: FURY ROAD with DAYS OF FUTURE PAST costar Nicholas Hoult.

I am not sure exactly how Bryan Singer plans to fit everyone into X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST without them all feeling like cameos. At this rate, the movie will have to be a minimum of two and a half hours long and that may be a stretch for the material. I hope that the bad feelings brewing in fans about how full this film is will end up being for no reason. Time will tell.

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST stars Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Halle Berry, Daniel Cudmore, James Marsden, Evan Peters, and Josh Helman and now opens everywhere on May 23, 2014.
