Keanu Reeves is trying to revolutionize the cinematic fight scene in his directorial debut, The Man of Tai Chi

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Apparently Keanu Reeves thinks he knows Kung Fu. Well, at least Tai Chi.

The star of THE MATRIX has begun production on his directorial debut, MAN OF TAI CHI. As you probably guessed, it is a martial arts film. But, Keanu is not just making a martial arts movie, he wants to reinvent the way fight scenes are filmed.

If you had told me 20 years ago that one half of Bill & Ted would be working on an entirely new camera for filming action scenes, I would have thought you were insane. But, Keanu has posted a proof of concept video showing the new camera rig to his YouTube account. Check it out.

The rig is called Bot & Dolly and Keanu says “the ambition for me was trying to get what I’ve seen done before with CGI and putting the camera in places where you couldn’t get and have the flesh and blood elements there.”

Damn, Keanu. You are growing up. Sounds like you have more passion behind the camera than in front of it. Count me in to check this out.
