These Breaking Dawn character posters showcase eye color and flawless skin and that is about it

I love that the tagline for the last TWILIGHT film, the cumbersomely titled THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN (PART 2), is “forever” despite the fact this is the last film in the series.

These new posters were revealed as part of a “Coven Scavenger Hunt” across several TWILIGHT fan sites. The game was designed to help Bella, Edward and Jacob on their mission to assemble the covens from around the world. Once all coven members have been uncovered, 3 new character posters will be revealed.

So, what do we have here: the three stars of the franchise staring expressionlessly out at us. Well, half of their faces. Okay, maybe two thirds of their faces. The point is, for the concluding chapter of a mega-successful franchise, the marketing department at Summit does not seem to be putting much of an effort into these posters.

The official synopsis from the studio isn’t even trying: The astonishing conclusion to the series, THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN, PART 2, illuminates the secrets and mysteries of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions.

This feels like the least amount of marketing for any of the TWILIGHT films, likely due to the fact the movie is guaranteed to gross over $200 million without a single effort on the studio’s part.

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN (PART 2) opens November 16, 2012.
