Which Hunger Games actress is the lead in David Gordon Green’s remake of Suspiria?

JoBloJoBlo

The remake of SUSPIRIA that David Gordon Green has been trying to make for five years was finally greenlit last month and now it has found it’s star.

Isabelle Fuhrman, the creepy little girl from ORPHAN and costar of THE HUNGER GAMES, will don the ballet slippers once worn by Jessica Harper. Fuhrman is only 15 years old but has definitely shed the creepy kid factor and looks like she has the body type to play a ballerina.

Also joining the cast are Isabelle Huppert (THE PIANO TEACHER), two-time Academy Award-nominee Janet McTeer (ALBERT NOBBS, THE WOMAN IN BLACK), Michael Nyqvist (MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: GHOST PROTOCOL) and Antje Traue (SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL).

Plot: Based on Dario Argento’s 1977 film of the same name, SUSPIRIA centers on Suzie (Isabelle Fuhrman), a bright and ambitious American student who travels to Europe to attend a world renowned school. After a fellow student is brutally murdered and several other cruel and strange homicides disrupt the once quiet life on campus, Suzie realizes that the academy may be a front for a more menacing organization.

I am still willing to give Green a chance with this one. I keep the original film sacred and recommend it to everyone looking for a unique horror movie. With the junk that passes for quality horror these days, even a half assed remake of SUSPIRIA would be a welcome change.

Filming begins in September and no release date is currently set.
