So whether you’re a Godzilla fan, a Hello Kitty fan, or simply someone who enjoys seeing giant monsters turned into cute toys, there’s a lot to like here. The collaboration officially launched today, August 18, and the toys are available for a limited time at participating McDonald’s locations.
What Is the Hello Kitty x Godzilla Happy Meal?
The new Happy Meal is a crossover between Sanrio’s Hello Kitty & Friends and Godzilla, combining the kawaii world of Hello Kitty with some of the most recognizable monsters from the long-running kaiju franchise. McDonald’s describes the collection as “the ultimate crossover where Kawaii meets Kaiju, making friends at first bite and proving that even the mightiest monsters have a soft side.”
Godzilla and his fellow monsters have spent decades destroying cities, battling one another, and generally causing enormous amounts of property damage. Now they’re getting the Hello Kitty treatment.

There are eight toys to collect in the new promotion, pairing Sanrio characters with Godzilla monsters:

Godzilla Meets Hello Kitty
The crossover brings together two Japanese pop culture icons from very different corners of entertainment. Godzilla became the face of Japanese kaiju cinema, while Hello Kitty grew into one of the world’s most recognizable kawaii characters.
