Just weeks after Steven Soderbergh left Warner Bros and the pre-production of A MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. because of disagreements over casting, the man has another film lined up. THE BITTER PILL comes from U.N.C.L.E. writer Scott Z. Burns and is briefly described as a thriller set in the world of psychopharmacology.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing with Soberbergh’s longtime producing partner Gregory Jacobs, and you’ve likely seen the product of the Soderbergh/Jacobs/Burns teamup, as the director/producer/writer trio also created CONTAGION and THE INFORMANT.
It’s a really quick turnaround for Soderbergh, who had been working on U.N.C.L.E. for over a year and a half. They’re pitching the project to studios now and have already received multiple bids.
More as we hear it.
