They’re the first official images out of GREAT EXPECTATIONS, where Bonham Carter is playing the central role of Miss Havisham. The reason for the wedding dress is that she’s a bit batty, and likes to sit in her moldy mansion wearing the same outfit she wore when she was jilted at the altar.

The film is being helmed by PRINCE OF PERSIA and HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE director Mike Newell, and also stars another HP alum, Ralph Fiennes, along with a bunch more Brits most of you wouldn’t recognize.
