The Dark Tower TV series finds a home on HBO

What the hell? In a span of a few days we’ve gone from THE DARK TOWER being dead and gone to being fully up and running again, albeit a few tens of millions lighter in the budget.

Brian Grazer said the film was in fact moving forward after he’d carved about $45M out of it, but there was little info on other films or the rumored TV series that was supposed to be a part of the epic DARK TOWER media “event,” which might be the best word for it.

But Grazer is still talking, and now has revealed via an interview with MTV that he’s locked down HBO to show the TV series.

“We’re going to do [The Dark Tower] with HBO,” he said. “We’ll do the TV with HBO, and we’ll do the movie with… to be determined. We’ll do it right.”

Obviously if you’re going to do a TV show or miniseries, there is no better channel than HBO which has big budgets and no restrictions on content. It’s a good choice for THE DARK TOWER, though as Grazer says, getting the films sorted out may take some doing.

Do you still want to see this happen?
