SUPER 8 is a weird movie. And I’m not talking about the movie itself but more the reaction people are having to it. Some people flat-out love it (including our own JimmyO and The Arrow) but many others have issues with the film (specifically the last act). Yet the film is cruising along on Rotten Tomatoes and was recently “Certified Fresh” with an 83% approval rating. (But if you look a little closer, some of the “fresh” ratings don’t read much like positive reviews to me…)
But SUPER 8 seems to be a real crowd-pleasure, judging by the reaction to some of the early sneak fan screenings. The film has been teasing us for months and months and finally today it hits theaters. With so much excitement around the film we want to know what YOU think! As we often do, we’re going to leave this article up all weekend with the Strike Backs open and encourage you to post YOUR review of SUPER 8.
