Stephen Dorff (SOMEWHERE, PUBLIC ENEMIES) really does look like a carjacker. I mean, just look at him. As such, it’s not much of a stretch to picture him as the antagonist in the upcoming and appropriately-titled indie thriller CARJACKED.
Dorff is reportedly in negotiations to join the lovely Maria Bello (GROWN UPS, A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE) who’s been confirmed to star, playing a hapless single mother who gets her ride took… while she and her kid are still in it. TheWrap says, “The story follows a single mother and her child who are carjacked by a thief who has no intention of letting them go.”
The film, from television and sometimes film director Peter Medak (“The Wire”, “Homicide: Life on the Streets”, SPECIES II… wow) and first-time screenwriters Michael and Sherry Compton, had at one point Ron Perlman and Saffron Burrows attached to star. Giovanni Ribisi had also been briefly attached as the vehicular evil-doer.
Stephen Dorff will be seen later this year in Sofia Coppola’s SOMEWHERE, while Maria Bello will next be starring in BEAUTIFUL BOY opposite Michael Sheen and Moon Bloodgood.
CARJACKED is scheduled to begin production next month in Louisiana.
