Last year, we heard Steve Guttenberg going on about a potential sequel in the THREE MEN AND A BABY series called THREE MEN AND A BRIDE. I was skeptical because it’s Steve Guttenberg, and he doesn’t have a whole lot going on these days (he also proposed another sequel for POLICE ACADEMY and COCOON), but it appears this project might be for real.
MTV recently talked to another one of the Three Men, Tom Selleck, and he confirmed that the movie is in the works, and will probably end up happening after all.
“It is true that Disney checked my availability,” he said, confirmed Guttenberg’s comments from late last year. “And I know they checked Ted’s and Steve’s, and then had a script written, I think tentatively called ‘Three Men and a Bride,’ which kind of says it all [about the story].”
“I hope it’s a good script, and if it is a good script I hope they do it, because it would be really fun to get back with Ted and Steve,” he said. “The strongest of the two movies I think is the first one. It had more heart, and that’s what I hope this third one would have if we do it.”
The original film was in 1987, meaning their little baby girl is now a 23 year-old hottie, and a ripe age for marriage, at least according to over half of my former high school class. I can think of worse ideas for family comedies, and it’d be cool to see the gang back together again.
