While the SPIDER-MAN musical languishes in some Broadway version of development hell, I think you should check out this song from TOTAL RECALL: THE MUSICAL, which I’m sure will be better than anything U2 comes up with for SPIDER-MAN. For starters, TOTAL RECALL: THE MUSICAL isn’t real but a song written and edited to clips from TOTAL RECALL by comedy writers Jon and Al Kaplan. Unlike a lot of other songs inspired by movies, the genius of “Mountains of Mars” is that it’s just one song from a theoretical musical. It doesn’t try to cover the entire film, just a specific portion of the plot. And yes, the Schwarzenegger impression is terrible but, to me, that’s what makes it funny. Check it out below…
