Lada Gaga and Beyonce ride in the Pussy Wagon

JoBloJoBlo

The new video for Lady Gaga’s song “Telephone” is movie-related only through its incorporation of an iconic KILL BILL prop and an obvious love of women-in-prison exploitation flicks, but on a slow Friday, that’s close enough.

The tune itself is almost more hyper-produced electroglam than I can handle in a single serving, but there’s something to be said for the hot-bodied pop queen’s influences. “I mostly love the way [Quentin Tarantino] uses different forms to create something new,” she tells E! Online. “His direct involvement in the video came from him lending me the Pussy Wagon. We were having lunch one day in Los Angeles and I was telling him about my concept for the video and he loved it so much he said, ‘You gotta use the Pussy Wagon.'”

The mini-movie (featuring Tyrese, many chicks and tons of glitter) comes from veteran music vid director Jonas Åkerlund, who also did Gaga’s “Paparazzi” spot as well as the drug drama SPUN and the recent horror movie HORSEMEN.
