Though THE WOLFMAN wound up getting somewhat mixed reviews, I think most walked away appreciating Anthony Hopkins’s grand and crazy performance. Will the British thespian bring that same level of menace to his new project THE RITE?
From director Mikael Hafstrom (1408), THE RITE is an adaptation of the book by Matt Baglio said to be based on true events. From THR: “The story centers on a disillusioned American seminary student who attends exorcism school at the Vatican and ultimately finds his faith through encounters with demonic forces.” Hopkins will play a priest who’s forte is exorcising demons using unorthodox methods.
Hopkins will next be seen in Woody Allen’s YOU WILL MEET A TALL DARK STRANGER later this year, and then THOR in 2011.
