Take a look at the first poster for Hilary Swank’s AMELIA, where she’s about to learn a valuable lesson about playing chicken with a plane on a runway. Or while standing on the ocean. Or in heaven.
I definitely worked at the mall for too many summers as a teenager, because my split second reaction when I first saw this poster was “They had American Eagle back then?” No, you don’t have to make fun of me any further.
So what do you make of this project anyways? I understand that Amelia’s story is a great one in many aspects, but it suffers from the VALKYRIE problem of “we know how it ends.” I’m still holding out hope that the film delves a little bit into speculation, and ends the movie with Earhart riding on the back of a Triceratops on some lost primeval island in the Pacific.
