TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN has broken the record for biggest opening day ever for a Wednesday release, easily eclipsing HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX, which grossed $44.2M back in 2007. In fact, TF2 made so much money that its $60.6M was good enough for second all-time, $7M short of THE DARK KNIGHT, which was released on a Friday, it should be noted.
I actually just got back from seeing this thing and if it has any legs I will be floored. Even for fanboys this thing must be painful. And I’ve argued with one of our writers because I loved the first one. But I feel bad for championing the franchise now. I seriously might be done with Michael Bay, or Orci and Kurtzman. I haven’t decided yet, but I definitely hate someone.
