In an article the other day in Esquire, their writer called THE ROAD the “most important” movie of 2009. Of course he also went on to caution that The Weinstein Co. was threatening to fuck it all up with their marketing campaign. They warned that the trailer would try to explain what happened that led to post-apocalyptic future in the movie, something that was never explained in the book or by its author Cormac McCarthy. Sure enough at the beginning of this trailer, we have stock footage of lighting, fires and tidal waves with a newscast voiceover. The movie looks awesome but this trailer isn’t really helping the cause. Check it out below or head here to watch it in HD.
