James Franco has been forced to drop out of a starring role in Christopher Nolan’s INCEPTION because of scheduling issues and stepping in to take his place will be Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He joins the previously cast Leonardo DiCaprio, Cillian Murphy, Marion Cotillard and Ellen Page in the secretive sci-fi flick. All we know about the film at this point is that it is a) sci-fi, b) takes place with the “architecture of the mind” and c) some of the character details like DiCaprio plays a CEO while Gordon-Levitt will play one of his associates. Nothing, however, is known about Murphy’s character and considering he can be a creepy dude, I take that as a sign that he’s up to some creepy business. Nolan is directing and producing the film based on a script that he wrote (but did he base it on any previously existing material?…). Filming on the project is expected to begin this summer with a 2010 release date planned.
