Singer takes Prisoner?

JoBloJoBlo

After VALKYRIE was released many began to speculate on what director Bryan Singer would do next. Would he return to SUPERMAN? Return to LOGAN’S RUN? VALKYRIE 2: ASSIGNMENT MIAMI BEACH? Turns out Singer just wanted to take a long vacation. But now that he’s had some time to relax, he’s circling a high-profile project that’s coming together quickly in Hollywood. Singer is attached to direct Mark Wahlberg in THE PRISONER, a story about a dad who takes the law into his own hands when his daughter is kidnapped (*cough*TAKEN*cough*). The project generated a lot of buzz when it was revealed the writer of the script was an unknown writer, Aaron Guzikowski, who was working in a marketing office when he sold the script. Singer told Entertainment Weekly that he couldn’t say for sure it would be his next film but that he was very “intrigued,” that it was a “great script” and that he’d “love to work with Mark.” The project won’t go out to studios until Wahlberg and crew have found their director and if it’s Singer, expect a deal to be closed quickly. While I would’ve loved for Singer to come back and direct X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE, I guess we’ll have to make due with PRISONER…
