Here Comes Candyland

JoBloJoBlo

First there was news of Monopoly being brought to the big screen by Ridley Scott, and we were all in a tizzy over Hollywood’s infiltration of board games. Now comes news of a planned film called CANDYLAND based on the famous and fabulous family fun-filled (that’s called alliteration people) board game of the same name.

Although the game doesn’t immediately seem film-ready, Universal has enlisted some high profile Hollywood talent to make this thing work. The script will be written by Etan Cohen (TROPIC THUNDER) and will be directed by Kevin Lima (ENCHANTED). That’s actually all I know for now. If you ask me what the film will be about, I’ll probably guess that it involves and Italian, a Jew, and Lesbian who embark on a journey to find the lost land of candy, so that they can make love to each other free of persecution. Just a guess.
