Black Freighter deets

The story within a story that runs through Alan Moore’s “Watchmen” graphic novel, a pirate tale titled “Tales of the Black Freighter”, is just one of the many things that makes the
seminal graphic novel so iconic and groundbreaking. Realizing this, WATCHMEN director
Zack Snyder and Warner Bros. decided to adapt the story into an animated film and release it as a stand-alone DVD/Blu-ray. Today, we have our first look at the cover art for both and some details. In addition to THE BLACK FREIGHTER, both will have a first look at the GREEN LANTERN feature film adaptation, a feature titled “Story Within A Story: The Books of Watchmen” and the live action/CGI hybrid documentary “Under the Hood”, in which one of the superheroes in the film, Hollis Mason aka the original Nite Owl, chronicles the rise of the costumed superheroes within the Watchmen world. The DVD and Blu-ray will hit stores on March 24th and WATCHMEN will open on March 6th.
