So we here at Joblo couldn’t be happier to see Heath pick up a Golden Globe nomination for his role as that makeup guy in that bat thing. Apparently we’re not the only ones. Terrence Howard, who was one of the celebrities announcing the nominees yesterday morning, went so far as to say that it would be a travesty if Ledger did not win. But wait, there’s more. Howard thinks Ledger’s performance is so far ahead everything else this year that whoever does win the award should donate it to Ledger’s family.
Errr, I’m all for honouring Ledger’s performance with some awards but that’s a little too much. Check Howard’s words exactly:
I’m sure he will (win). Even if someone else won in his category, if I had won in that category, I would give it to his family because he truly had the best performance.
To be honest, I don’t think Heath’s family would have any use for a Golden Globe with Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s name on it. But that’s just me. Howard went on to say:
He gave more than I have seen any other actor give, he brought a new light. How do you step into Jack Nicholson’s shoes? How do you do that and stretch that? He stretched Jack Nicholson’s shoes.
Nicholson’s shoes were strecthed alright. In a big way.
