There’s been a lot made of the revelation that in Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood movie, NOTTINGHAM, Russell Crowe will play both Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham. There was speculation that it would be kind of a dual personality thing, or that Crowe would Eddie Murphy the roles, but today producer Brian Grazer has clarified things for us.
“The two role confusion is that what Robin Hood does is he sees Nottingham in battle very early in the movie and Nottingham dies. And Robin Hood takes over the identity of Nottingham. That’s how it plays out.”

So there you have it. I don’t know if that makes me more or less interested in it, but I have a major broner for writer Brian Helgeland so I’m down whatever.
