Ferrell hits Broadway

JoBloJoBlo

While Oliver Stone’s W. hits theaters today and presumes to entertain you with the life and times of George W. Bush, you might want to wait until January 20th before you plunk down your cash for a Bush based production. Starting on January 20th, Will Ferrell will star in a one-man Broadway show titled “You’re Welcome America: A Final Night With George W. Bush.”

As you’d expect, Ferrell will reprise his genius Bush impression for a show that will talk about his presidency as well as topical political humor. Longtime Ferrell partner Adam McKay (ANCHORMAN, STEP BROTHERS) will direct the production as well as co-write the script with Ferrell. The play will begin previews on Inauguration Day, January 20th and will open on February 1st at the Cort Theater. Tickets will presumably go quickly as the limited engagement will end a month and a half later on March 15th. Rarely have I been so excited to see a Broadway play, but you can count me in for this.
