When I spoke to HAROLD AND KUMAR ESCAPE FROM GUANTANAMO BAY writer/directors Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, we spoke briefly off the record about some of their upcoming projects. One of their projects was TIL BETH DO US PART, a comedy about a newlywed guy who gets p-whipped by his new wife. It’s a concept I think just about any guy can relate to and I’m shocked this hasn’t been the plot of a movie yet. While the film will reportedly share some comedic elements with their prior films, BETH won’t be as over the top as the HAROLD AND KUMAR films (so no more bottomless parties, sadly). Now though Hurwitz and Schlossberg have officially set the movie up at Warner Bros. and are expected to begin filming early in 2009. Casting is underway for the two male leads whose friendship has been put to the test. The duo are also working on a script for a third movie in the HAROLD AND KUMAR franchise to help close out the trilogy.
