Live-action Shrek?

JoBloJoBlo

Ever wonder what a real-life Shrek might look like? (And I don’t mean a guy in a really bad Halloween costume.) Well as the Broadway production of SHREK: THE MUSICAL gears up, we have our first look at what a human version of Shrek would look like. That’s actor Brian d’Arcy James under all that makeup that will take him two hours to apply before each show. The facial makeup allows James to have full control over his expressions as well as head vents and channels to allow sweat to drip out (all together now: ewwwww). If you’re in Seattle, you’ll get a look at Shrek singing and dancing on stage this week during previews with an official run starting on September 10th. SHREK: THE MUSICAL won’t make its way to Broadway until November 8th. Meanwhile, the original animated ogre is ready to make a return in SHREK GOES FOURTH, set for a 3-D release in 2010.
