Riley for Robin Hood?

Sam Riley Last week, we told you about a rumor floating around the interwebs that current Dark Knight Christian Bale was being considered for the role of Robin Hood in NOTTINGHAM, Ridley Scott’s upcoming re-teaming with Russell Crowe in which Hood is the bad guy. However, Mr. Beaks from over at AICN was quick to check with an inside source and debunked the rumor. Now, the folks over at Latino Review are throwing another name into the mix – Brit thesp Sam Riley. Riley achieved critical acclaim last year for his portrayal of tortured Joy Division lead singer Ian Curtis in CONTROL and apparently, Crowe has been lobbying for Riley to get the part after seeing his performance as Curtis.
