I totally forgot about DEFIANCE. There was that trailer a while back, and since then we haven’t heard anything. After director Ed Zwick’s last two efforts, THE BLOOD DIAMOND and THE LAST SAMURAI, I’m very excited about this. Daneil Craig seems perfect for Zwick’s handling of the strong, heroic male lead. Both Tom Cruise and Leo DiCaprio were badasses in their respective Zwick films, and judging by the sub-machine gun Craig is holding, this looks to be no different. The film is based on a true story and follows Craig, along with Live Schreiber and Jamie Bell as three brothers from Belarus who escape the Nazi push and instead of running, decide to fight back and rescue their fellow Jews. Sounds great. DEFIANCE hits theatres December 19th.
