Hilariously subversive British cuddly bear Ricky Gervais will once again be re-teaming with hetero life mate Stephen Merchant. Writing-wise, that is. “The Office” and “Extras” collaborators are currently working on a feature film titled THE MEN AT THE PRU. The film centers on a the trials and tribulations of a group of 20-somethings in the early 1970s. According to Gervais, “They work for the building society and they’re having a great time but it’s about them coming of age and having to grow up.” Before he goes back to the 70s, however, he has his big Hollywood directorial debut with the “high-concept” comedy THIS SIDE OF THE TRUTH. The story, the script of which he co-wrote with Matthew Robinson, centers on a society in which lying doesn’t exist, which puts one lowly actor (Gervais, naturally) who’s somehow able to lie, in an especially unique situation. Jennifer Garner, Rob Lowe and Jonah Hill co-star.
