Looking to develop for herself a female version of THE BOURNE IDENTITY, Angelina Jolie has set up an untitled action thriller at Paramount. The film will be based on the life of Kathi Lynn Austin, a US intelligence operative who specializes in arms trafficking. Austin was with an agent shopping her life story while Jolie was looking for a espionage thriller with franchise potential and the two sides came together for the project. As with many projects in Hollywood, the film is stalled while waiting for the writer’s strike to end. Paramount has a writer in mind but work on the script can’t begin until the studios and the WGA agree to a new deal. Jolie is currently filming THE CHANGELING for Clint Eastwood and has another action thriller, WANTED, set for release next year.
