The rumor purveyors of the New York Post are today reporting that Australian blond bombshell and JoBlo.com object of unflappable lust Naomi Watts has joined the cast of ANGELS & DEMONS, the Ron Howard directed feature adaptation of the Dan Brown hit novel of the same name. The film, which serves as a prequel to the mega-popular THE DA VINCI CODE, will once again star Tom Hanks as Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon as he unravels the twisted machinations of yet another presumably long dead secret society, this time the Illuminati. The main female lead in the story is Italian scientist Vittoria Vetra but it’s unknown at this point if that’s the role Watts is up for, though it’s possible considering the NYP describes the role as “major”. Watts was most recently in David Cronenberg’s deliciously twisted drama/thriller EASTERN PROMISES and can next be seen in the thriller THE INTERNATIONAL and the drama NEED.
