J.J. Abrams has been casting the hell out of his upcoming STAR TREK prequel reboot and he recently added another name to the list in the form of classic “that guy” British character actor Ben Cross. The UK thesp will be slipping on the pointy ears to play Spock’s father Sarek. And, in case you’ve forgotten, this flick is chock full of Spock family love. Cross as the elder Spock, Winona Ryder as Spock’s human mother Amanda Grayson, Zachary Quinto as the wide-eyed (but still pointy-eared) young Spock and Leonard Nimoy as the Spock we’ve all come to know and love. My Star Trek knowledge base is extremely lacking so anyone willing to share some interesting Sarek trivia that may factor into Abrams’ film, please feel free to do so in strike backs. The USS Enterprise once again boldly goes where no one else has gone before Christmas Day of next year.
