Though “The OC” was unceremoniously canceled by Fox, Mischa Barton keeps keeping on with her acting career. I still don’t think I’ve seen her in anything other than the tabloids but she’s signed on to star in another movie at least. Barton will play the lead in the upcoming psychological thriller WALLED IN, based on the “bestselling” French novel “Les Emmeures.” I put bestselling in quotes because when you Google the name of that book, all that comes up are articles about this movie. Anywho, Barton will star as a demolition company rep (*cough*…) who, while supervising a job, finds “horrifying” secrets hidden with the walls of a mysterious building. Also starring are Deborah Kara Unger and Cameron Bright, that little doe-eyed kid from X3 and BIRTH. The film will mark the English-language debut of French director Gilles Paquet-Brenner, who I don’t think is related to either Yul Brynner or David Brenner. Barton has a number of indie pics just waiting to be released and is currently filming ASSASSINATION OF A HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL with Rumer Willis. Filming on WALLED IN is scheduled to begin this October in Saskatchewan.
