Having covered paranoia with the horror thriller BUG, Ashley Judd is moving right along the psychiatric disease spectrum and covering depression for the drama HELEN. Written and to be directed by NO RESERVATIONS scribe Sandra Nettelbeck, Judd plays a music professor whose overwhelming, paralyzing depression puts a strain on her family; that is, until a young female student whose all too familiar with depression finds a way to connect with her. Emotional Oscar-baiting then ensues. Production is scheduled to begin October 2nd in Vancouver. Ash-bomb can next be seen in the Wayne Kramer directed ensemble drama CROSSING OVER, a film dealing with immigration, not a biopic based on the insipid John Edwards show of the same name.
