Jason Bourne ally/tormentor and apparent pink bikini wearer Joan Allen is joining Jason Statham, Ian McShane and Tyrese Gibson in the cast of the Paul W.S. Anderson directed and Tom Cruise produced sadistic action thriller remake DEATH RACE. Set in a futuristic America where prison inmates are forced to compete in the titular race, Statham stars as inmate who quickly becomes a crowd favorite. Allen will play the ruthless warden of the prison and mastermind of the race with McShane playing a coach and Gibson playing a sociopathic racer named Machine Gun Joe. Production is expected to begin this year for a fall 2008 release. Allen can currently be seen attempting to contain the aforementioned Jason Bourne in THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM and can next be seen in the drama BONNEVILLE and the drama GOOD SHARMA.
