Nicole Kidman will star in and produce the upcoming romantic comedy MONTE CARLO for Fox and director Thomas Bezucha (THE FAMILY STONE). Kidman first attached herself to the project back in 2005 with Jez and John Butterworth writing the script. That version went nowhere and Kidman met with Bezucha about coming aboard to refocus the project. The film is based on the novel “Headhunters” by Jules Bass and follows a group of schoolteachers who ditch a boring vacation in Paris to head to Monte Carlo and pretend to be rich heiresses. There they meet four guys pulling a similar scheme. Bezucha will concurrently develop another Fox film, the suspense drama ORBIT about a man who wins a trip to outer space and awakens to find the entire crew dead. Kidman is currently working on the epic AUSTRALIA with Hugh Jackman and has THE GOLDEN COMPASS and INVASION set for release later this year.
