I’m pretty sure that Christian Bale is simply incapable of a bad performance. Thus I am not one bit surprised that the new trailer for RESCUE DAWN looks like another amazing, yet sure to be overlooked performance from him. What is surprising though, is that Steve Zahn looks like he might be pretty incredible in it too. I’m sorry, I know a lot of you love Zahn like a fat kid loves cake, but he just seems to annoy me every time he’s in a movie that isn’t OUT OF SIGHT.

If all of this is new to you, well then a quick low down: RESCUE DAWN tells the true story of US Fighter Pilot Dieter Dengler (Bale), a German-American shot down and captured in Laos during the Vietnam War. Eventually, Dengler organized a death-defying escape for himself and a bunch of other POWs. The film is written and directed by Werner Herzog (THE GRIZZLY MAN).
