Daniel Craig doesn’t seem to have to worry about being typecast as James Bond. The actor has a number of non-Bond roles on the way (THE GOLDEN COMPASS, I, LUCIFER) and has now signed on for yet another. Craig will star in the upcoming Ed Zwick (BLOOD DIAMOND) film DEFIANCE. The film follows four Jewish brothers who flee Nazi Poland and take up with a group of Russian freedom fighters in Belarus. Craig will play one of the brothers, James Bondstein. It’s unclear whether DEFIANCE would film before BOND 22. Craig also has the thriller BLINDNESS with Julianne Moore on his to-do list. Given that BOND is already set for a November 2008 release, it probably won’t start until later this year allowing Craig another project this fall after I, LUCIFER wraps.
