I want to think I’ll love the upcoming GET SMART remake. Heck it’s got Steve Carell, who is hilarious, and Anne Hathaway, who is incredibly hot. Plus Terrance Stamp? Good stuff all of it. But I’m nervous about director Peter Segal whose films haven’t exactly knocked my socks off to date. This first picture of Carell and Hathaway as Maxwell Smart and Agent 99 (which premiered today in USA Today) gives me some hope though. Warner Bros. really did a bang-up job with casting on this one and that’s usually half the battle. Now here’s hoping they’ve got themselves a script that’s actually funny.
