Jessica Alba has found two co-stars for her upcoming remake of the Hong Kong thriller THE EYE. Alessandro Nivola (JUNEBUG) and Parker Posey have signed on to join the project, which will be directed by Frenchman David Moreau and Xavier Palud. The film follows a young woman who, after a cornea transplant, is haunted by distrubing visions. She decides to get to the bottom of this mystery by tracking down the original owner of the eyes. Tom Cruise is producing the film for Lionsgate, who will release. Oddly enough, Paramount has come aboard to co-finance. I say “oddly” because Paramount had full rights to the film not that long ago, decided to put the film in turnaround where Lionsgate picked it up. Now they’re putting their money back into it after an acrimonious divorce with Tom Cruise. Alba can be seen next in another medical thriller AWAKE with Hayden Christensen. Filming on THE EYE is expected to begin this spring.
