Samuel L. Jackson and Kerry Washington have signed on to star in the upcoming thriller LAKEVIEW TERRACE for producer Will Smith. The film follows an interracial couple who move into their dreamhouse only to be terrorized by their neighbor, a “tightly wound, racist LAPD officer.” (Gee, if movies are to be believed all LAPD officers are racist…) I’m going to go out on a limb and say that the twist is that Jackson is the racist cop since both he and Washington are black and couldn’t both be the interracial couple. Unless Washington is the racist cop. And if that’s the case, this is a movie I gotta see. A beautiful female racist cop as the bad guy. Perfect. Jackson recently wrapped another thriller, 1408 with John Cusack and is currently finishing production on the sci-fi flick JUMPER. Washington just completed work on a minor role in FANTASTIC FOUR: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER as Alicia Masters and can be seen next alongside Chris Rock in I THINK I LOVE MY WIFE. Filming on LAKEVIEW is expected to begin this May.
